Crime figures fall to previous levels.

West Yorkshire Police report one one crime in the village in the past month. This was an attempted burglary at a house in the St Marys Garth area.

The previous crime spike in the neighbouring villages seems to have stopped. A person appears in court in August in connection with an arson offence in Bardsey and a prolific burglar believed to have been responsible for many crimes in surrounding villages has been jailed.

The Police request all residents to take measures to make their homes less likely to be broken into. Keys should not be on view, and a timer device considered to turn lights or radios on if houses are unoccupied for holidays. Villagers should consider what they post on social media. A mention that the writer is at an airport or heading for a sunny destination could be seen by thieves as well as friends.
