Each April this annual ‘Parish Assembly’ of East Keswick Parish Council is a public meeting where villagers can hear of the work of the Parish Council, meet its Councillors and Clerk and ask questions.
It takes the form of a short presentation, a guest speaker, networking and drinks.
This year’s guest speaker is Janet Thornton, an ex Parish Councillor herself and one of the driving forces behind the East Keswick Neighbourhood Plan which will be put to a referendum shortly. If approved by the majority of voters it will set the blueprint for how the village wants to evolve over coming decades.
All villagers are invited, it’s a good opportunity to meet others and hear about village projects.
Each Spring, the Parish Council organises a litter pick and it’s great fun as well as being worthwhile. Everyone’s invited, including children and dogs and hi vis vests, bags and litter gripping tongs are provided. Just turn up!
