MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD AT 7.30PM AT EAST KESWICK

MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON 19th September 2023
The minutes of the meeting held on 19th September 2023 were approved.
MATTERS ARISING
To consider and decide upon planning and landscape applications
23/06100/TR 2 Lumby Garth – Tree works – no comments
23/05540/FU 4 Keswick Grange – single storey side extension no comments
23/05482/FU 7 Wharfe Bank – alterations including part conversion of garage to form
habitable room no comments
23/05345/TR Rigton Croft The Paddock – T1 Cherry removal no comments
Matters requested by Councillors
Update on Highway issues, Church Drive ginnel
It was noted Church Drive ginnel has now been cut back. Ebor Way hedges cut
back, Cllr Bailey to follow up
Memorial benches (DH)
It was noted that June Gallant’s family are contributing towards a memorial bench in
her name, the location to be agreed. The Queens bench is being funded by the
Ward Council. The Kings bench will be funded by the PC, Cllr Harrison to provide
update.
Memorial Planter update (BG)
Cllr Groves confirmed this will be completed once the trees are available. Cllr
Bailey confirmed the Plant Centre will provide these by the end of November. Cllr
Edwards agreed to source a memorial plaque.
East Keswick Sports Association update (BG)
Cllr Groves noted that all villagers had now left the EKSA and confirmed no further
repair work has been completed on tractor and gangmower repairs. Cllr Groves
confirmed he is contacting West Riding FA in relation to funding options.
Adopt a memorial tree (BB)

EK Village Hall – Illingworth Field
It was agreed Cllr Batty will liaise with LCC re transferring the Outer North East Funding.
Update on War memorial information board (DH)
Cllr Harrison confirmed she has been liaising with the War Memorial Trust and will
provide an update at the next meeting in relation to a weatherproof board providing
information with QR code.
Playground equipment replacement and grant funding update

D Day 80 – 6 June 2024 working party update
Discussion re a possible event at the Sports Ground. To consider further in next PC
meeting.
Remembrance Sunday
It was agreed to commence at 12.145 on 12th November. Clerk to make
arrangements and confirm invitations to the event.

Outer North East meeting – 1 November 2023
The date was noted for Councillors to attend where possible
