MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD AT 7.30PM AT EAST KESWICK
VILLAGE HALL ON 21st November 2023

Apologies received from Cllrs Waterfield, Ballmann, Edwards, Bailey.
Councillors agreed to minute that Cllr Ballmann’s extended absence has been agreed upon.

MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON 17th October 2023
The minutes of the meeting held on 17th October 2023 were approved.
MATTERS ARISING
To consider and decide upon planning and landscape applications
23/06844/FU – 40 Church Drive -Tree works – no comments
23/06401/FU – The Laburnums – Demolition of existing part two storey, part single storey
extension to rear, construction of new part two storey, part single storey rear extension – no
comments
Matters requested by Councillors
Update on Highway issues – pavement creep, clerk to liaise with Cllr Robinson at
LCC for an update re Main Street, Crabtree Lane and Moor Lane.
Memorial benches
Cllr Harrison confirmed a licence is needed for June Gallants bench and confirmed
the Kings bench will be ordered for delivery on the same date.
Memorial Planter update (BG)
Cllr Groves was thanked for tidying up the War Memorial prior to Remembrance
Sunday. Cllr Bailey to provide an update at next meeting re memorial tree. c/f Cllr
Edwards to source a memorial plaque.
East Keswick Sports Association update (BG)
Cllr Groves noted that the repair work is still to be completed on the tractor and
gangmower repairs. Cllr Groves confirmed he has received interest from possible
volunteers for the EKSA. Cllr Groves confirmed as part of the ground maintenance
he needed to sample the pitches, agreement was approved to purchase equipment.
Adopt a memorial tree (BB)

EK Village Hall – Illingworth Field
Cllr Batty confirmed he has spoken to LCC and confirmed the EKVH will apply
directly for the £8k Outer North East funding, previously awarded to EKPC. He
confirmed the paperwork had been completed and submitted. It was agreed that
EKPC would directly donate £1k to the EKVH fundraising.
Update on War memorial information board (DH Cllr Harrison confirmed there is no funding available from the War Memorial Trust
and that she is liaising with Peter Harding to move this forward.
Playground equipment replacement and grant funding update

Clerk requested consideration be given for paid expenses to take account of the use
of space, lighting, heating and electricity as working from home

7.2.It was AGREED to pay the following payments previously authorised, clerk’s salary and
Inland Revenue.

  1. To notify the Clerk of matters for inclusion on the agenda of the next meeting
  2. To confirm the date of the next meeting as Tuesday 12th December 2023.
