Do you remember D Day?

June 6th marks the 80th anniversary of D Day and the UK Government is encouraging communities to mark the event. In East Keswick plans are being drawn up to light a beacon bonfire at the Sports Ground on Moor Lane at 9.15pm on the evening at the same time as other beacons across the country will be lit.

This beer and bonfire event to be organised by the Parish Council will be open to everyone but the Parish Council is also keen to commemorate the anniversary in other ways too. Do you have any recollections or passed on memories of how the village reacted to D Day? Please let us know via chairman@eastkeswick.org.uk
