Parish Council opposed to 20mph for minor village streets
Leeds City Council has proposed creating 20mph limits on minor streets in the village but the Parish Council is opposed. The proposed zone would see roads such as Keswick Grange, The Paddock, The Grove and Church Drive made subject to 20mph limits but 30mph would remain the norm on main roads such as Main Street and Whitegate.
The Parish Council believes that making short cut de sacs into 20mph zones is pointless, wouldnt be unenforceable and the only effect would be a plethora of 20mph posts becoming a hazard on unlit pavements
