Save the day – Parish Council unveils Platinum Jubilee Celebrations
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend (2-5 June) will see a series of events in the village highlighted on Saturday 4 June by two special ones.
Village Gala Day
During the day on Saturday there will be a Platinum Gala at the Village hall from 1030 until 4pm. This will include an Artisan Market with craft and food stalls, childrens activities, special events by village community groups and clubs, a real ale bar, wine tasting, cream teas, competitions and fun for all the family.
The event is being organised by East Keswick Parish Council who would welcome any enquiries from individuals, community groups and companies to be involved.
East Keswick Village Hall is generously making the Hall available free of charge for the event and EKVH will be sponsoring free ice creams for children (first 200, so come early!)
Comedy Club Night
There will be a first for the village in the evening. After the day event closes the Village Hall will be made ready for a Comedy Club Night organised by East Keswick Parish Council in conjunction with one of the country’s top Comedy Club providers. This ticketed event for adults promises an evening of laughter and good fun. There will be a licensed bar plus real ale. For further details click here link
Maybe you’d like to attend with friends? Tickets will be limited due to capacity and demand could be high.
Any profits from either event will be used for East Keswick Sports Association. This long established charity has recently been taken over by the Parish Council. The Sports Ground on Moor Lane needs both short term and long term investment. The Parish Council has taken steps to ensure sport continues there and a new Sports subcommittee of the Parish Council has been established and a full programme for the cricket season starts mid April.
Sunday street parties
The Queens Platinum Jubillee organisers are encouraging street parties on the Sunday. Maybe your street might like to do something?
