Both village pubs to reopen outdoors on April 12

Both The Old Star Inn and the Duke of Wellington will reopen from April 12th to serve drink outdoors. Government restrictions on pubs opening will allow beer gardens to open from that day and indoor drinking served at seats from May 17th.

The Duke of Wellington Inn had closed and its owners advertising for new tenants but the former management have been persuaded to reopen the pub this Spring and Summer whilst new tenants are found. Francis Cowlam and his team had taken over the helm at the Duke fourteen months ago which proved to be bad timing when Covid19 hit the country shortly after.

Meanwhile The Old Star intern to open for drinks to be served outside between 2pm and 7pm.
