Easter update and Corona Virus

East Keswick news this Maundy Thursday 9th April.
Need help?
If anyone needs help through this crisis then please email chairman@eastkeswick.org.uk There are so many people in the village ready to help and I’ll happily try and put those in need of help with those who can.
W-ise words
One group coordinating much of the help is Wetherby In Support of the Elderly www.w-ise.org.uk
Food bank
Wetherby Food Bank is operating. In normal circumstances a person in need would request a voucher from the Leeds City Council Wetherby One Stop but at the moment, clients can self refer between 10 and 12 on Tuesdays and Fridays at the Distribution Centre, Barleyfields Centre, Barleyfields Road, LS22 6PN
They will be given food, appropriate to the size of household, to last approximately 3 days. Cleaning materials and toiletries are also available.
It’s possible that once they are registered, future deliveries could be made without the need to come to the Centre each time.
Food and takeaways in the village
The weather forecast for Good Friday and Easter Saturday is 21C sunny intervals and a gentle breeze. Enjoy a walk and enjoy your garden but respect social distancing. the standing instructions remain to stay at home, shop for food or medicines if you have to and as infrequently as possible using home deliveries where you can. The village butcher is well stocked and sells much more than just meat. The Duke is offering takeaways all weekend. For the butcher and the Duke please telephone first and pay over the phone.
