Improve local becks tree planting day seeks volunteers
A project to improve local becks through tree planting- including Keswick Beck – is seeking volunteers for Sunday 3rd February.
The aim is to plant trees to help reduce flood risk, improve water quality and create habitats. The Yorkshire Dales Rivers Trust have already installed a number of features in the Scarcroft area and taking part will help add to this. The project is ongoing for a further two years and the intention is to have further community days and hopefully make changes across the Collingham Beck catchment (which includes Bardsey, Keswick and Scarcroft Becks). All are welcome to come along, including children supervised by a parent. Warm clothes, boots and gloves are recommended.
Volunteers are asked to meet at 10.30am at The Milk Churn on the A58 at Scarcroft. The Milk Churn will be offering hot drinks to all who take part.
