Tour de Yorkshire to close village roads

Friday 4th May sees the Tour de Yorkshire coming through the village, this time in a reverse direction to previous years. Cyclists will enter the village from the direction of East Rigton, Bardsey Bank Top, Keswick Lane and then travelling up Main Street.

The women race will enter the village around 1130am while the mens race will pass through shortly after 5pm.

All parking on the route will be prohibited from midnight the previous evening until 6.30pm. Keswick Lane, Main Street and Lumby Lane will be closed to all traffic from 1015 to 1pm and again from 4pm to 6.30pm. This means motorists won’t be able to enter or leave the village if their route includes any of these roads. Bus passengers will also be affected with buses diverted away from the village at these times.
