Church Drive building appeal decision

24 January 2018

An appeal by a developer against Leeds City Council for a failure to give notice within the prescribed period of a decision on an application for planning permission has been rejected by a government appointed planning inspector.

The dismissal of the appeal is the latest setback for JWT Developments Ltd which had hoped to build one detached three bedroomed house and a pair of semi detached houses each with a single garage on what was formerly open land opposite the turning circle near the top of Church Drive.

The land was deemed surplus to needs by the housing association Leeds North West Homes and sold with outline planning permission for two detached bungalows. JWT Developments who bought the plot have made various applications for greater use of the site, each without success to date. In December the developer was served with an enforcement notice by Leeds City Council to remove an advertising banner at the site.
