Ready to clean up for the Queen?

The Parish Council is organising a village wide litter pick on St George’s Day, Saturday 23rd April, and inviting villagers to join in and ‘clean up for the Queen’.

Although the litter pick has become an annual event, Buckingham Palace is encouraging communities to clean up in advance of the Queen’s 90th birthday this June. A week after the litter pick the Tour de Yorkshire travels through the village and East Keswick will be bedecked in bunting for the occasion.

Villagers of all ages are welcome to come and help in the litter pick, families welcome. Everyone is meeting at the Methodist Church meeting rooms at 10am and refreshments and gloves/tongs will be provided. Only an hour of people’s time is envisaged.
