Parish Council Chairman resigns

The Chairman of East Keswick Parish Council has resigned, following the September meeting. Gaynor Anning has been Chairman of the Parish Council since taking over from John Priestley and was Vice Chairman before. In the contested 2015 elections Gaynor was reelected with more votes than any other candidate.

Vice Chairman Andrew Batty takes over as Acting Chair until the October meeting when councillors will discuss the election of Chairman. Gaynor’s resignation from the Parish Council creates a vacancy on the Parish Council which – between elections – is normally filled by councillors co-opting (or appointing) a new member. This will also be on the agenda at the October meeting. Villagers interested in the position are invited to make their interest known to the Clerk.
