Parish Assembly – Tues 21 Apr – all invited

The annual Parish Assembly takes place on Tuesday 21st April at 7.45pm in the Village Hall and all villagers are invited. For those not familiar with the event it takes the form of a short presentation by Parish Councillors on the actions taken by the Parish Council over the previous twelve months.

Wine and nibbles will be served from 7.45pm before the meeting itself starts at 8pm. Expected to last for an hour or so the evening will include two short presentations by the Playground Group and by David Gluck of Ruralis.

The East Keswick Playground Group has raised over thirty thousand pounds in fundraising events and grants which is paying for the improvements to the Children’s Playground at Carr Green currently underway. A number of new pieces of play equipment will extend the appeal of the play area from under 6’s to primary age children.

David Gluck is the external consultant hired by East Keswick Neighbourhood Plan group, itself a sub committee of the Parish Council. The group are roughly half way through a four year project which will see a neighbourhood plan written for the village which ultimately will go to a referendum. If the majority of those voting (late next year) approve the plan it will have legal weight in the way the village looks over the years to 2028. In the next few weeks a draft plan will be delivered to every home. At the Parish Assembly David will explain what it will contain, why it’s being written and why your support is important.
