Duke to reopen by end of month

3 November

The regional manager for Enterprise Inns has confirmed to this website that the Duke of Wellington will reopen ‘in two to three weeks’

The pub is one of two in the village both owned by the same pub company. Of the two, the Duke attracted a restaurant trade as well as a ‘wet’ trade and had been a popular destination for north Leeds people seeking a local meal in the country. Its reopening in time for the Christmas trade will be welcomed by many.

The Duke closed in August after a difficult trading period for its leaseholder. Last year the pub was registered as a community asset by the Parish Council.
