Wildlife Trust secures Green Leeds grant

East Keswick Wildlife Trust has secured a grant of over £3600 towards the cost of planting a mixed native specie hedgerow along the boundaries of Ox Close Wood. The grant has ben given by Green Leeds and will help with essential hedging work around the 35 acre wood which is wholly owned by the Trust. Adjacent fileds are intensively farmed and the new hedge will form an effective barrier against spray drift and encroachment by large farm machinery.

Work will commence this winter and volunteers are invited to join the planting work parties. Further details are at www.ekwt.org.uk or please call 01937 574140
