Gala group seek members and ideas
The village is to have a Gala event on Sunday 22 September and an open meeting is being held at The Duke of Wellington this Wednesday 5th June (8pm) and anyone who can contribute ideas or time will be warmly welcomed.
The impetus for the event comes from the Neighbourhood Plan which is currently being drawn up by a committee of villagers at the instigation of the Parish Council (for full details see the Neighbourhood Plan tab on this website). Initial ideas on the content of the Neighbourhood Plan will feature in a public exhibition* at the Village Hall on Sunday 22 September in the Village Hall which will form the centre piece of a larger Village Gala type event.
Ideas are to be canvassed at the Duke on Wednesday on the other events to make up a Gala day which might include stalls, games, races, food, real ale, bouncy castle, children’s activities etc
Could you spare a few hours to help? Do you have some bright ideas to add? If so Emma Wren would like to meet you at The Duke on Wednesday at 8. If you can’t make the meeting but would like to help, either on the day by running a stall or beforehand helping with planning then you can contact Emma on 572951 or firstname.lastname@example.org
* The Neighbourhood Plan group has been canvassing opinions on a wide range of subjects about how the village could improve over the next two decades. Their findings will be exhibited at the Village Hall event which it is hoped will stimulate further debate and feedback on the day. That feedback will be used to fine tune a draft Neighbourhood Plan which will eventually be put to a village referendum, potentially in 2014.
