Neighbourhood Plan being planned
The village has taken up the challenge to produce a Neighbourhood Plan. Under the Localism Act 2011, communities can develop a plan for their area which – if approved at a subsequent referendum – have legal weighting and would influence the future development of an area.
The Parish Council has instigated the creation of a separate Neighbourhood Plan group which will report back to it. A number of villagers have come forward offering to join the steering group whilst many others have offered specific expertise to certain subject areas to be covered.
However all villagers are encouraged to follow the development of the Neighbourhood Plan at a subsidiary page of this website and to contribute comments and ideas. All are welcome to attend the meetings mentioned which will cover different subjects every few weeks during the first months of the year.
Following this series of meetings will be a public meeting in the Village Hall. Feedback from that consultation will be taken on board before a final draft is put to a village referendum, probably in 2014.
