New Crabtree Lane catering van opens for business
If you pass Crabtree Lane car park any morning soon (not Sundays), you will see a new amenity. East Keswick Parish Council has agreed to rent villager Chris Whitewick a pitch to sell hot and cold drinks and hot and cold sandwiches and pies to passing motorists and walkers. Early indications are that the facility will be a big hit.
Former Police officer Chris will be ‘on duty’ from 6.30am to 2.30pm six days a week and promises a warm welcome to anyone passing by. Food on the menu includes all day breakfasts, bacon sandwiches, burgers and hot drinks.
The Parish Council believe this facility offers a win-win for everyone concerned. The village gets an extra amenity, the Parish Council gets more income, walkers and ramblers get the facility to stop for refreshments, Chris gets a livelihood and the car park has someone there part of the day to prevent any anti-social activity
