Village Tennis Club wins major grant for refurbishment

East Keswick Tennis Club has secured a major grant to resurface its courts. Eleven thousand pounds has been secured from Caird Bardon Ltd through the Caird Bardon Community Programme

The money will be used to fund major improvements to the two courts at Carr Green in the village. In recent years, the surface of the courts has suffered due to poor drainage and moss growth so this grant – together with a substantial contribution from club funds – will allow them to be refurbished completely.

Commenting on the award, Robert Siekierkowski, Chairman of East Keswick Tennis Club said “We hope the two resurfaced courts will be ready for action by Spring 2013 in good time to welcome new and existing members to our conveniently placed club. We would like to thank Caird Bardon and also East Keswick Parish Council for their support in securing the future of this vital village amenity.
