Leeds Council to auction Church Drive land for housing

Leeds City Council has announced it intends to auction land it owns on Church Drive, having given itself outline planning permission.

The plot, amounting to a quarter of an acre, is to be auctioned on September 13th with a guide price of £90,000

It stands facing the turning circle near the top of Church Drive between two sets of housing that were originally owned by Wetherby Council which became part of Leeds is local government reorganisation in 1974.

The land is believed to have outline planning permission for two bungalows. however, one stumbling block may be that it is was believed that all local properties at one time had a ‘right of amenity’ over the grass area and some may still retain it.
