Anyone for the Parish Walk?
The second of two annual parish walks takes place on Wednesday 11th July and everyone is invited. Meeting at 7pm at the gates of St Mary Magdelene Church on Moor Lane, this longer of the two walks will take participants on tracks across the parish leading to the meadows bordering the River Wharfe before turning back towards the village along the green track known as Fitts Lane.
If you’ve never been before, do come and bring the family. It’s a pleasant amble, a chance to meet other villagers and see some of our outstanding countryside on what will hopefully be a dry sunny summer evening. Parish Council Chairman John Priestley who will lead the walk has said that all who take part are welcome to join him in at the end of walk when he slakes his thirst in The Old Star.
The walk is likely to take just under two hours and comfortable walking shoes appropriate to the weather conditions are suggested.
