Villagers Charity Trek launches with Star music night

Two villagers intend to trek through part of the Sahara desert to raise money for St Gemmas’s Hospice. Adele and Andy Preston will walk up to 20km a day over three days raising money for the Leeds hospice and its sister hospice in Marrakech

Andy and Adele from Rosecroft have a target of £3900 to raise by July 13th and are already halfway there. To boost funds, the pair are organising an auction and social event at The Star on Main Street on Friday 25th May from 7.30pm. The Yorkshire Irish folk duo ‘The Schmig’ will be performing live and there will raffle prizes, auction items and food to enjoy so all are welcome.

St Gemmas is Yorkshire’s largest hospice and cares for over a thousand people and their families each year.
