Police issue crime prevention advice for EK
One of the advantages of living in East Keswick, according to many of its residents, is its rural feel enhanced in part by the absence of street lighting. However, thieves also like dark nights and little lighting and as the village is dark by 5pm now, they have offered some advice.
Although the village is a very low crime area there have been two attempted break-ins last month at properties in Whitegate and Moor Lane. One was on a morning, one an early evening.
Police advise everyone to invest in good outside lighting and to consider automatic timer lighting in the home. Police patrols are being stepped up on dark evenings so if you see anything suspicious then report it, the Police say they might just be around the corner.
