Speed trap snares nineteen

A speed trap on Main Street caught nineteen drivers this week, most of them local. The SiD device was operated by West Yorkshire Police in conjunction with East Keswick Parish Council. Two councillors and a PCSO manned the device on Main Street. Out of nineteen speeders, five were from the village, two form Bardsey, two from Collingham, one from Scarcroft, one from Linton, four from Wetherby and four from outside the area. Those caught will get warning letters from police. The trap is part of a Parish Council initiative to reduce speeding through the village. More speed traps are planned.
