Parish Council urges greater use of village bus services

Parish Council advisor on transport, Jim Dedicoat, is urging all villagers to make greater use of village bus services to avoid future cuts. Some timetabled journeys are run with financial support form Metro and it is feared some might become at risk if passenger numbers dip.

The village enjoys an hourly bus service to Leeds and Wetherby plus a daytime two hourly service to Tadcaster and Otley. A full timetable appears on the complete village guide tab to this website, but here are a few ideas of how buses could be useful to you…

Nights out in Leeds or Wetherby – late bsues back leave Leeds at 2245 and Wetherby at 2330

Trip out to Roundhay Park – Leeds bound buses call at Oakwood Clock, a short walk from the park.

Walks out, buses back – How about walking to Linton via Wood Hall and catching the bus back? Or walking along the river bank to Harewood and catching the 923 back?

Trip out to Harewood House and Bird Garden – your bus ticket entitles you to reduced price admission.

Otley market – the 923 is the perfect aid.
