Anger at bin collection situation
Many villagers are angry about the continued delays in refuse collection by Leeds City Council. New rotas were introduced last autumn designed to remove eleven trucks, all agency staff and save a million pounds. Now Leeds have revealed savings will be less than a third of that forecast, not a single truck has been decommissioned, ten additional agency staff hired and most parts of Leeds are suffering -at best – erractic collections.
In East Keswick, Church Drive has not a collection since Christmas whilst Keswick Grange had its first collection in a month recently, only for a second bin truck to follow two hours later.
Parish Council leader John Priestley has obtained an email address which has delivered success in the past. It is shown below. If many villagers use it, it might get things improved.
