New Parish Councillor announced

East Keswick Parish Council has announced the person who will replace Janet Thornton in its seven strong line up. He is Roy Gibbs, who was a Parish Councillor some years ago. Roy runs a village based architectural design practice and his expereience in planning matters will be a welcome strength to the council following the recent sad death of Gordon Nutter who helped the Parish Council on planning matters long after his retirement from it.

The vacancy arose mid term following the retirement of Janet Thornton. When such a gap occurs between elections, the Parish Council has the authority to co-opt a person to complete its team. Three strong candidates put themselves forward and it is hoped the others might become interested in future vancancies which may become available.
