Lest we forget – Remembrance Sunday service at the War Memorial

World War One cost this village one in seven of its able bodied men; the Second War War took more of its youth. Perhaps this is why these conflicts are commemorated with four memorials in the village: the lych gates at the Anglian Church, the memorial lime trees down Crabtree Lane, the memorial gardens down Crabtree Lane and the War Memorial itself at the top of Whitegate. It is this latter location where the service will take place on Sunday 8 November at noon. All are invited.

Poppy day sales will take place around the village in the run up to these events. The money raised helps those still suffering from earlier conflicts and those currently being injured in present conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.
