‘Use it or lose it’ threat over mobile library

A mobile library, which visits the village every Friday, is in serious threat of withdrawal from lack of custom. The mobile library van parks in the Duke of Wellington car park every Friday from noon for thirty minutes. Books can be borrowed or ordered for collection on a subsequent week. The van carries a large selection of books and saves villagers the need to visit the nearest branch in Westgate, Wetherby.

Some weeks no one has used the service so all villagers are being urged by the Parish Council to consider giving the library van a try. After all, a visit there can now be combined with lunch in the recently reopened Duke of Wellington too.
