Police investigating an incident at the south end of the village on Sunday 1st March have arrested a Bardsey youth and released him on police bail.

The incident took place in the middle of the Sunday afternoon when a young man stopped his car at the Duke of Wellington car park 'to take a phone call'. According to him, he was attacked by two youths who tried to force him from his vehicle. He drove off, wth one attacker inside the car. He is believed to have lost control of the vehicle whilst being attacked, and the car went into gardens at the front of Brooklands. Eye witnesses called police who were quickly on the scene with tracker dogs. A Bardsey youth was subsequently detained and enquiries are continuing.

A police spokesman couldn't confirm if this incident was drug related but did say there was more to the matter than meets the eye. He said East Keswick is a very low crime area  and villagers should not be unduly concerned about this incident but to report anything suspicious in the usual way.
