East Keswick is to have a new library, or to be more precise a book exchange which will be the new use for the red telephone box near the white railings.

The red phone box was recently made redundant by British Telecom but bought by the Parish Council for a pound. It's since been fitted out with shelves.

The intention will be to take a book when you leave a book. The WI has kindly offered to act as curators and Elizabeth Ward has offered to be the book depository for the first stock.

If you have books in good condition which you are willing to donate to the scheme, these can be taken to Elizabeth at 7 Brooklands. The Parish Council hopes to arrange an 'official opening' for the new facility before Christmas
