Beer festival 'another huge success'
1 Oct 17
East Keswick's second beer festival in its revived new style was another huge success. Families and friends from the village and surrounding villages were treated to a choice of over twenty real ales, plus ciders, lagers, prosecco and gins in a fun packed day which filled the village hall and overflowed into a marquee in the grounds.
There was a full programme of live music plus food to suit all tastes. A BBQ by the village butcher was doing brisk trade and ran out of burgers by early evening. Curries were available from Cath's Corner gazebo on the lawn and wood fired pizzas were being sold from the car park.
Children enjoyed a bouncy castle, face painting, puppet show, tuck shop, balloon modelling and other activities in the Verity Room. Volunteers from the village and way beyond manned the bar.
The 2016 beer festival, the first in the new format, raised a record six thousand pounds for charity. This years beneficiaries include Parkingsons and Mind as well as Bardsey Primary PTA
