Major new housing estate to go ahead in Collingham
The Secretary of State has over-ruled Leeds City Council and given approval for up to 150 new homes in Collingham. The site at Leeds Road is at the south end of the village and its approval is a huge disappointment to Collingham Parish Council which had opposed the development and is now seeking to mitigate its impact.
The developer is Miller Homes and the site will include a mixture of house sizes. A cycleway will be provided through the site and other innovative ideas proposed include electric vehicle charging points in each garage. The project is also to include improvements to junctions by the Half Moon Inn and Wattlesyke junctions.
