The recently reopened Duke of Wellington has had its coveted Cask Marque renewed with flying colours. Four real ales were tested by inspectors. These were Taylor's Landlord, Ossett Blonde, Leeds Pale and Theakstons Black Bull. Inspectors gave the pub 80 out of a possible 80.

The success marks a fitting climax to the new landord Zoe Haydock's six weeks in tenure. This Christmas the Duke is open for drinks on normal hours, although Christmas Day will be limited to 12-3.

The kitchen will be providing a food menu until last orders at 7pm on Christmas Eve and until 4pm Boxing Day. Then the kitchen will be closed on Dec 27-30.

New Years Eve will see special arrangements with late opening and New Years Day will see both village pubs involved in the annual Tug o War event.
