East Keswick Snooker Club gave over a thousand pounds to charity when it closed, Michael Rowlands its former Chairman told the East Keswick website. Commenting on an article in the June issue of the Church and Village newsletter which mistakenly gave the impression that the Snooker Club owed money to the Village Hall, Mr Rowlands said the true facts were that when the Snooker Club closed it had cleared all its debts and had reserves of over a thousand pounds, which he said was enough to cover another year's rent and service charges This sum was donated between the Candlelighters and Martin House charities.
