Parish Assembly hears crime has halved from its previous low level
The Annual Parish Assembly took place in the Village Hall on Tuesday 20th April with good news to report. Councillor Judith Pentith told the meeting that although crime figures were very low in East Keswick in 2008/9 these had effectively halved in the year to April 2010. West Yorkshire Police had reported investigating only fifteen minor incidents in the village.
Council chairman John Priestley spoke of a fairly trouble free year where the major problem was winter snows. June Gallant, Parish Clerk, gave a budget review more upbeat than Alastair Darling, Councillor Pinkney spoke of the work completed by the Footpath Group, Councillor Gaynor Anning spoke of the wider Wetherby regional picture and Councillor Andrew Batty spoke on the subject of the village website aided - for the first time - by live links facilitated by the village hall wi-fi system
