Long awaited road resurfacing to Moor Lane is to begin around March 25th, Leeds Highways have informed the Parish Council. The road surface and pavements are to be repaired on a stretch from Main Street to Moat House. The Parish Council had lobbied hard for the work as the road surface became one of the worst in the area, though severe winter weather has made other roads in the village deserving of urgent treatment too. The Parish Council is to continue to lobby for urgent repairs to Whitegate and Lumby Lane in particular.

Meanwhile, in response to concerns of speeding motorists at peak hours, West Yorkshire Police has agreed to deploy speed checks and traffic cars to monitor Main Street. The narrowness of the road combined with intermittent pavements make the road more hazardous to pedestrians. There have been concerns that since lower speed limits were instituted on the A58 the route through the village and on through Wike has become a busier route for Wetherby to Leeds commuters.
