The fifth East Keswick Beer Festival was another great success, in many ways more than recent years as the beer -and tha party - continued until after 10pm. 23 different Yorkshire beers were on offer and traditional pub food was available such as Pie & Peas with Illingworth's acclaimed pork pies. The stage was busy with muscial entertainment throughout the day provided by the village's own 'Evan's Boys', a very well recieived Marin Raynor, and an evening jazz band in the form of 'Harriers Jazz'.

The entrance fee was £5 which gave each participant a commerorative glass, a souvenir programme including tasting notes and a voucher for the first half pint of beer. Beer tokens to make additional purchases were on sale and all beers will be £2.50 a pint.

Monies raised go towards the Village Hall funds for upkeep and providing further community events and whilst sums have still to be finalised, the Beer Festival is ne of the most successful income streams for the Village Hall. Thanks must be recorded to David Wort and Will Lifford for organising the event and to numerosu villagers who gave their time to man the bar, sell entry tickets, raffle tickets and the catering
